How
can I contact you guys?
Well,
you can email us, you can
call us at 212-927-3457, or you can mail the old school way to 165
Pinehurst Avenue #1D, New York, NY 10033.
I
live in the midwest, and I can't make it to New York. Do you have a
wedding reception that fits my needs?
You're
in luck. On June 29, we will have another
reception in Manhattan, Illinois. Brent's parents, Gary and Janet,
have been nice enough to open their house and yard for this party.
How
should I get into the city from the airport?
For
ease of use and planning, we recommend taking a taxi. All taxis have
flat rates for going into the city from one of the major airports
(expect to pay a little bit more if you are flying into Newark).
In
Illinois, we recommend renting a car.
Where
should I stay in New York?
We
have booked a block of rooms at On
The Ave, a nice hotel on New York's upper west side, a few blocks
from Central Park. If this is you first time to New York, and you'd
like to stay in a more action-packed part of the city, give us a call
and we can make some recommendations.
Where
should I stay in Illinois?
We'll
have information for you on this soon...
How
should I dress for this wedding?
However
you would normally dress for an afternoon wedding. You can wear dresses
or ties if you like, but we won't stop you at the door for wearing
a tuxedo t-shirt. Just be sure to dress for the weather - the whole
shindig will be outdoors.
Dress
for the Manhattan, IL reception will be casual. Again, the whole shindig
will be outdoors.
Is
Amy keeping her last name?
Yup.
How do you make
guacamole?
Here are the
ingredients you'll need: 4 ripe avocados, 1 large ripe tomato or 2
smaller vine-ripe tomatos, 1/2 large spanish onion, 2 cloves of garlic,
1 bunch of cilantro, 1 jalapeno, 1 lime, salt
Seed the avocados
and scoop them from their skins into a large bowl. If they are very
ripe, you should be able to mash and chop them using two spoons. If
they're not quite ripe, try a potato masher. Add to the bowl: the
tomatos seeded and finely chopped, the onion and garlic finely chopped,
cilantro (pull the leaves from the stems and chop), the jalapeno seeded
and finely chopped. Stir all of the ingredients together, further
mashings the avocado as you go (but remember, some chunks are tasty!)
Mix in the juice of the lime and salt. Enjoy with chips and a margarita!
